Lieutenant Abubakar, senior science officer (specialized in radiobiology) aboard the USS Diagne, marries the teachings of Logic and Pulaaku as she is Vulcan and Fulani.

While Kadiatou is firm, reserved, and controlled with her behavior, she is strategically hopeful in most situations in order to cultivate the betterment of long term events. The sentiment that any situation can yield a positive outcome aided her through the death of her mother, the loss of her child, and most crew difficulties.

Kadiatou disallowed herself from grieving her mother by making her passing the fuel for her career in Starfleet. On Earth, Kadiatou's Human mother, Nana Asma'u, took in her wife's katra before her passing. Kadiatou committed herself to the teachings of Surak and Pulaaku in order to live as a Vulcan and a Fulani.

Almost two decades from that event, Kadiatou became attentive to her personal inclinations to companionship and began pursuing them. Despite the Vulcan's lack of experience, her rigid moral code has been a guide for interpersonal relationships outside the workplace.
